Supporting the Altura Lion’s Club by collecting old, clean shoes to be sent to developing countries to protect people from infections due to abrasions on bare feet. Many are directly donated, however, repairable shoes are sent to qualified microenterprise programs to create jobs in poor communities. Some use just the soles and duct tape and any other fastener available to protect their feet.
Sunday School children wrote and decorated cards of appreciation for St. Charles teachers on September 12.
Birthday Kits for Hometown Resource Center
Twenty-nine birthday cake kits were assembled by the Faithful Fellowship group and delivered to the Hometown Resource Center in the spring of 2021 to be distributed to those who may not otherwise have the opportunity to celebrate special events with a cake. This is a continuing project now subsidized by a $250 Thrivent grant.
