Faith Lutheran supports St. Charles locally through the Hometown Resource Center.

Lent is a season of self-examination, prayer, and concrete action.  For centuries, Christians have used this “penitential” season to prepare for Jesus’ resurrection through spiritual disciplines that center God’s work in our lives and in the world.

This Lent, Faith is Giving Locally as we prepare ourselves again for God’s Good News.  By Giving Locally, we are reminded that we all have a part in God’s Good News right here and now.  Rather than giving something up for Lent, locally we’ll be supporting Hometown Resource Center right here in St. Charles. The calendar below provides ideas of things that can be donated and that will be collected throughout Lent at Faith.

October 14, 2021 Faith distributed Food for Families for the St. Charles Food Pantry.  Reach out to Lori Hilmer or Janet Campbell if you would like to be contacted to help.

April 2021:  Members of Faith distributed Food for Families in conjunction with the St. Charles Food Pantry at Saint Charles City Hall.  Set up @ 3.  Distribution at 4.  For more details, contact Lori Hilmer.

March 2021:  Mmmmmmmm!   Food collection of non-perishable items that begin with the letter “M” such as mustard, mayonnaise, mac and cheese, muffin mix (or Bisquick type product), and milk (dried or evaporated).

May 2021:  Household and hygiene items, especially shampoo, dish soap, and laundry detergent.

June 2021:  Bring ingredients for birthday cake kits for those who may not be able to afford the luxury of making a birthday cake for a special family member.
